BRICK, NJ – Welcome to the July 11 edition of the Monday Manual, where we highlight upcoming events during the week in the Brick area.

City Council and the Planning Board both have meetings scheduled for this week.

City Council will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Municipal Building, 401 Chambers Bridge Road.

The board meeting agenda includes a second reading of an ordinance prohibiting left turns from Lions Headquarters Park to Beaverson Boulevard.

The council is also due to have a first reading of an order amending its beach vehicle permits to include language prohibiting people from driving on or near plant-protected areas before November 30. The order notes that the wording of the amendment is in response to a requirement of the State Fish and Wildlife Division.

The Planning Council is scheduled to meet Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. at the municipal building. The agenda includes a hearing on a proposal to expand the city’s ordinance allowing microbreweries to include craft distilleries, craft wineries and wine tasting rooms.

SummerFest is Thursday, with The Benjamins set to hit the stage at Windward Beach Park. The band’s shows are described as a “unique combination of classic, modern, elegant and avant-garde”.

The Ocean County Fair returns starting Wednesday at the Robert J. Miller Airpark, Route 530 in Berkeley Township. There are 4-H animals and exhibits, rides, vendors, food and entertainment.
