TWO taxi drivers from a Bradford district taxi firm were targeted for their earnings while working.

The worrying incidents happened on Saturday and Sunday – on the same street – leaving private hire company AA Carz in Shipley to fear the same could happen again.

A driver was on West Royd Drive, Windhill, on Saturday when his vehicle was surrounded by four people.

Fearing the group had a knife, the driver handed over his money, which was around £150-160.

Then on Sunday, another driver was on the same street, when his vehicle was approached by a man.

The rear doors of the vehicle were open and the suspect grabbed the driver’s arm and twisted it, but the driver managed to get away.

West Yorkshire Police have confirmed they are investigating both incidents.

For the first, a spokesperson said: “Police took a report of a robbery this morning (May 23) which allegedly took place on West Royd Drive on Saturday evening. (May 21)
