Guwahati: The All Guwahati Taxi Drivers Union has decided that taxi drivers will no longer work under Ola and Uber from August 1.
The decision was made in light of the taxi drivers’ interest in the city as the taxi drivers did not receive the necessary incentives and the Ola and Uber administration did not list and respond at their request.
According to sources, Ola-Uber operators Ibrahim Ali and Debjit Deka tried to confuse the drivers as the taxi drivers revoked their decision not to work under Ola and Uber.
A press release was issued clarifying that no official from the government or the authorities of Ola-Uber consulted the All Guwahati Cabin Drivers Union or that no discussions took place with the government or the authorities. Ola-Uber authorities.
On Sunday, the All Guwahati Taxi Drivers Union is staging a massive protest against car rental giants Ola and Uber at Chachal in Guwahati.
The protest was organized by taxi drivers against the Ola and Uber administration for exploiting them over the years.
During the demonstration, slogans “Ola-Uber Go Back” were launched by the taxi unions.
During the protest, the taxi drivers urged the Chief Minister of Assam, Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma, to pay attention to the unemployed taxi drivers in Guwahati Town.
